The now abandoned police search for Mrs. Mary Turner, who vanished last year after her wedding, was one of the most extensive of its kind carried out. in New Zealand. Numbering JO to 12. the police party had carried out jlic search every day since February 27 last. It covered thousands of acres of South Kaipara Head, the Helensville district and the Waitnkcres. and the cost must have run into thousands of pounds.
