FINAL GALLOPS AT HASTINGS
Good Six By Aqueduct Dominion Special Service. HASTINGS, September 30. Perfect conditions prevailed for the final gallops of 'horses racing at Hastings on Saturday. The majority worked on the outside of the course proper. The best times were credited to Aral, Kinconda, Sports Flash, La Serena ana Aquerecorded the best time among the juveniles, running three furlongs in 37* and beating Sunny Rosa comfortably. The former, a Defaulter colt, may not be as forward as soma of Ino age, but gives the impression of coming good with racing experience. Silvestre was doing it under a pull throughout in 38 to run three furlongs, accompanied by Brief Melody. St. A.ut comfortably beat off Bing Velvet. Blue Bonny, who arrived from Auckland on Wednesday, finished beside Note Baid over three furlongs. These two gallops were not timed, as a fog hung over the course early. Theiodessa, against the bit. took 40 for three furlongs. The best figures for a half-mile were recorded bv Aral, who carried 9.0 and returned 50 with her stable companion Kineonda taking a fraction less. . Other half-miles were: Timothy, assisted the last three by Daurlum, 51; Tucker Box and High Ideal, 521; Lastik (under restraint), 52; Singing Hills, 53; Desert Ace, «j2*J. t* i v. On the course proper bporcs haisn pleased by the manner in which she ran five furlongs, narrowly beating La Serena with Barrosa a length away in 62. Sports Flash has been disappointing lately, but will have a track on Saturday more suitable than for some time. Other fives registered were:. Epping and Regal Night, both doing it easily, 601; Kinlid, 654; Ozel and Gay Falcon (impressive). frl.?. .... i Aqueduct, going impressively throughout, caught the eye ao a very fit gelding when recording 1.161 for six furlongs alone Ollier figures for this distance were: Royal Greek and Gold Dip, 1.211; Indian Sport (on the plough), I.ISJ; Voltaire (plough and currying over 9.0), 1.184: ’Virtuoso, Joseph Conrad. Grillin and Taiwhainut, 1.20. Cheap Lodging hit out freely, finishing well over a mile iu L4s : |. She was brought home the last four hy Bunsby. Glenfalloch, with Greenfeast for a mate, pleased by running seven furlongs In Lol. The former may want, a race, but looks a likely winner in the near future. Circular Note for a hurdler impressed when running once round the plough alone in 1.40 L For tlie same distance The Monarch took 1.444. The Monarch looks in need of a sharp race before striking last winter’s form. Monmouth was very impressive when giving a clean exhibition of hurdling over live fences. Sandy Cape showed improvement in his jumping over six hurdles, a task that Timothy also got through safely.
