HAMILTON, September 28. The going 36 feet out from the rails was dead for galloping at Te Rapa this morning-, when horses with engagements at the Ohinemurl Jockey Club’s spring meeting at Paeroa on Saturday were worked. Brandon Hall (Hain), who is to contest the Alaramarua Steeplechase at Paeroa, took tile brush double in front of the stands in his stride. Black Musk (Brown) was sent over three of the schooling hurdles and gave a characteristic exhibition of fast jumping. Bisquit (Hain) outjuinped The Dude (Strathern) over the hencoop aud the brush double. Bisquit Is in forward condition and should give a good account ot himself at Paeroa.

Forest Glen (Coon), Surwin (Brown) and Theme Song (Cox) were associated over six fences on the steeplechase country. Commencing at the sod wall near the halfmile aud finishing up over the brush double, all gave a sound display, specially Forest Glen, who finished in front and Indicated by his showing that he will prove difficult to dispose of in the Maramarua Steeplechase. Gay Lally shaped well in shading Air Port and Come True at the end ot six furlongs in 1.231. the initial five furlongs in 55 1-5. Gay Lally is coming to hand well.

Tamaku, an aged gelding by Matinee from Myra Poton, in A. McGregor’s stable, finished in front of Forest Glen. Surwin and Theme Song at the conclusion of a round in 2.18 2-5. Marble Fox and Vaalsmoss were clear of Marlnoto over seven furlongs in 1.36 1-5. Foxwyn aud Advance Eagle accounted for Conquistador over five furlongs in 1.9 4-5.
