Pleading guilty to obtaining money from Mrs." Margaret M. Pattullo. widow, Christchurch, bv false pretences, Ethel Eleanor Ray. aged 38. domestic, for whom Mr. A ,J. Mazengarb appeared, was committed by Mr. Stout, S.M.. in the Magistrates’ Court, Wellington, yesterday, to the Supreme Court for sentence. Evidence was given by Mrs. Pattullo that she had sent sums of money totalling £425 to Wellington from Christchurch by money-order telegram to accused who. purporting to be a triend, telephoned from Wellington asking for the money tor the purchase of a section.
