This afternoon His Excellency received Lieutenant-General E. Puttick, General Officer Commanding New Zealand Alilitary Forces.

Air W. L. Kennedy. J.P.. Stratford, who is a delegate to the justices conferonce, is staying at the Hotel St. George. Afajor T. AL Charters, Canterbury, was re-elected chairman of the New Zealand Navy League- AVar Council at the third annual meeting of the council at Wellington yesterday. Air. C. N. Cathie, retiring president of tlie Wellington .Manufacturers’ Assoeintioi 1 . was presented with a wristlet, watch at last night’s annual meeting us ;i mark of appreciation from members for his outstanding service.

Air. C. M. Bowden’s election to TjuTiarnent was referred to by Mr. C. A.-Cntiiie (retiring president), nl last night’s annual meeting of the Wellington Mnnufaeturers’ Association, when it was decided to record the. pleasure of the association at bis success.
