Countess AVodzicka, wife of the Polish Consul-General, was a recent M’ellington visitor to Palmerston North, where she was the guest of Air. and Airs. ML A. Jacques.

Chief-Commander V. E. Jowett, AV.A.A.C., Commandant, Army Headquarters, has returned to Wellington after a short visit to Auckland.

Cabled advice has been received of the arrival of Miss Lorraine Saunders at India ou her way back to her work with the New Zealand Presbyterian Mission in the Punjab. Aliss Saunders left Auckland on August 15.

Airs. AV. G. Stead, Hawke’s Bay. who has been visiting Dunedin, is staying in Ashburton as the guest of Mrs. S. L. Gilkison.
