James Henry Hammond, salesman, .aged 37, who had been sentenced by Mr. Justice Johnston to nine months’ imprisonment in 'May last for lhe theft at Wellington of a subcase and its contents, of a total value of £5, had his sentence reduced to six months’ hard labour. Frederick John Wormaid. labourer, aged 48. sentenced at Timaru in July last io two years' hard labour for theft and assault, had his term reduced to one year for theft and six months for assault, to be served concurrently. fjeven appeals were dismissed.
