GURKHA HERO DECORATED

(British Official Wireless.) RUGBY, September 26.

The King held an open-air investiture in the inner quadrangle of Buckingham Palace. He decorated Subahdar Lal Bahadur Thapa, of the Gurkha Rifles, witli the V.C. The King. and Queen walked slowly down a line of Indian soldiers, shaking hands mil speaking to each man in turn. Then the King pinned the Bronze Cross on the tunic of the Gurkha hero. Afterward the King presented other decorations won while the Fourth Indian Division wag lighting in ■ North Africa.
