Plain Speaking To Spain And Argentina Urged

(Received September 27, 9.15 p.m.) NEW YORK, September 26. President Roosevelt and Mr. Churchill should press Spain and Argentina to break wifh the Axis, said the mayor of New York, Mr. La Guardia, in a broadcast. He said: “Mr. Churchill should take Spain by the coat lapel and look it square in the eye. President Roosevelt should take Argentina and look it square ’in the eye and say, ‘Look here. Are you with us? We are going to tell you right now where you can expect to get off if you don’t break with the Axis and where you will get olf after the war! The United Nations should no longer brook indirect and direct assistance to the Nazis from Spain and Ai-gentina.”
