Mr. Kirk, a barrister, is an ex-mayor of both Nuseby and Gisborne. He was a member of the Royal Commission on Education of 1912 and of the Council of Education, and ufter active service on the Western European Front in tile Great War was appointed first director of education ;o Hie N.Z.E.F. At present ne is a director of several companies, including .he Australian Provincial Assurance Association. Ltd.
