With a lacerated wound in his right arm, caused by the arm being caught in the gears of a crane at the Hutt Valley railway workshops, Mr. D. McLellan, apprentice fitter, 21 I’irie Street, Lower Hutt, was taken to hospital by the Free Ambulance yesterday afternoon. Michael Ernest McGann, a seaman, aged 25, and John Patrick McCartney, a seaman, native of Eire, aged 35, convicted by Mr Stout. S.M.. In the Magistrates’ Court, Wellington, yesterday- of stealing a wallet and 10 dollars, of total value of £3/10/-, the property of an American serviceman, Hugh Samuel Mobley, were ench sentenced to three months’ imprisonment with hard labour.
