SISTER KENNY FETED

(Received January 31, 10 p.m.) NEW YORK, January 30. Sister Kenny and the mayor of New York, Mr. La Guardia, cut a huge birthday cake at a Roosevelt birthday party given by the New York City Council. They handed the first slices to two children who. as a result of the Kenny treatment, had recovered from paralysis. , Mr. La Guardia in a speech hailed Sister Kenny’s achievements.

Sister Kenny expressed happiness lit being able to bring the treatment, to America. She added : "But for America s help we Australians might now be Japanese subjects.” Later in tile evening, she was the guest of honour at a fashiomjbl* birthday ball in the Waldorf Astoria Hotel., where 5000 were present.
