Afr. C. W. Hamann. Deputy-Chief Engineer, Alinistry of Home Security, who has been in New Zealand advising on civil defence, is soon to return, ami at a gathering on Friday the Minister of Civil Defence, Air. D. \\ ii son, presented to him a bound set of Centennial Pictorial Surveys ("Tlie Alaking of New Zealand”) on behalf of officers of the National Service I>e partment with whom Air. Hamann hat been associated. Mr. Wilson said New Zealand had reason to be thankful to Great Britain for allowing two such distinguished officers as Mr. A. D. Wilson, who has already left for England, and Air. Hamann to come to New Zealand and help it.
