NOW WORKING OUT THE DETAILS

Anglo-American Plans

(British Official Wireless.) RUGBY, January 28.

Following upon the conference between President Roosevelt and Mr. Churchill at Casablanca, states a North Africa correspondent, high-rank-ing officers of the three Allied fighting services have been conducting talks at headquarters. Among those taking part are (British) the head of the joint staff mission to Washington, the chief staff officer to the Minister of Defence, the First Sea Lord, the chief of combined operations, and the coinmander-in-chief in the Middle East, and (American), the chief of staff of the army, the commander-in-chief of the navy, the eommander-in-ehief of the army air forces, the military chief of supply, and the Allied commander-in-chief of the North African operations. Mr. Avereil Harriman, President Roosevelt’s personal representative, was also present.

It is presumed that while the general scheme of future operations was drawn up in broad outline at Casablanca, the service chiefs are now hammering out the details of the next moves by the Allies.
