STRONG RAID ON DUSSELDORF

Tito Air Ministry states that Lancasters and Halifaxes of the Bomber Command last night heavily attacked industrial objectives in the Rhineland. Several hundred tons of high explosives and incendiaries were dropped on 1 ntsseldorf in 20 minutes. Heavy cloud made it difficult to assess the results, bin the glare of fierce fires was seen and the attack is believed to have been very effective. Six of our bombers are missing.
.Dusseldorf is one of the leading coniaiercial cities of Western Germany. Beside.-- its importance as a great Nazi arsenal. it is a big railway and internal transport centre. It has already been on lite ILA.E. raid list 51 times. Copenhagen radio reports that sugar factories blazed fiercely after the 11. A.lf. raid on the Danish capital yesterday. A I.ridge among the quays in the centre of Copenhagen was damaged, and tram seri ices across the bridge were suspended. I nexploded bombs caused the evacuation •o' several factories and also the evacuation of .1000 homes. .Seven persons were killed and 70 injured. It is reported front Denmark that the submarine Diesel engine factory
at Copenhagen was destroyed in the raid.
