Ministerial.

The Hon. R. Semple, Minister of Public Works, left Wellington yesterday for Christchurch. The Hon. ,1. G. Barclay, Minister of Marketing, returned to Wellington yesterday from Auckland. The Hon. A. 11. Xordmeyer, Minister of Health, returned to Wellington yesterday from the Suuth Island. The Hon. P. K. Paikea. Minister in Charge of the Maori War Effort, returned to Wellington yesterday from lhe north. The Hon. 11. G. R. Mason. Minister of Edneaiion. returned to Wellington yesterday from the north.

Mr. Jacob Elliott, a member of the Railways Superannuation Board, left for Auckland by the express last night. Mr. L. J. Coakley, a member of the Auckland City Council, and Mr. J. Moiling, town clerk, are visiting Wellington.

Mr. A. J. Danks, M.A.. a master of Hie Christchurch West. High School, has been appointed part-time lecturer in economics for 1943 by the Council of Canterbury University College. Mr. Danks obtained equivalent firstclass honours in economics in 1938.
