MIDSUMMER SHOW

Karori Horticultural Society

A very beautiful display of gladioli, hydrangeas, cut flowers and vegetables was staged by the Karori Horticultural Society at their midsummer show on Saturday. The show was officially opened by the High Commissioner for the United Kingdom. Sir Harry Batterbee, who congratulated the committee on their splendid effort, and specially Mr. J. J. M'hitebead on his display of vegetables. Sir Hurry spoke of the very beneficial effect gardening had on people in these sad and troublous times, and said he hoped that flower shows would continue to be held A special feature of the show was an excellent, display of hydraugeas by Mr K. R. Martin.
