The burden is lightened at the weekends, when younger helpers al business during the week lend a band with the bottom bunks. V resident of the Eventide Home, ami a very'elderly lady, Miss Douglas, has come every Monday ami on various other days, since the opening. Her special lob is to put fresh pillow slips on and liei help is greatly appreciated. A group ot live schoolgirls from the M ellington technical College are others who come every Saturday morning and every day during school holidays. One girl has just turned 1G years of age and the others are younget. They are splendid workers, and the way they do lheir work would be an example to many grown-ups. . The convener of these groups is airs. M. J. Bentley, who organizes all dormitory work. Her helpers are drawn Irom the following organizations :—V ellington East. League of Mothers, Karori esleyan Fireside Club. Technical College Ladies’ Auxiliary, Te Aro School Momen’s Commit Ice, Mount Victoria Happiness Club and the TVAV.b.A. Ml. • canteen section. Mrs. Bentley would be pleased to hear from any other women who would like to follow- the excellent example set by the jiresent helpers.
