ITALIAN AIR DEFENCE
(Received January 24, 7.30 p.m.) LONDON, January 23. The Rome radio lias announced that a meeting of the Italian Cabinet, over which Signor Mussolini presided, approved a Bill providing for special defence measures against air attack in certain localities. The Cabinet also approved the Budget for 1943-44, providing for an expenditure of £480,000,000 sterling, entailing a deficit of £70,000,000.
