Brigadier Receives Bar To D.S.O. Immediate awards of a bar lo the D.S.O. to Brigadier 11. K. Kippenberger, D. 5.0., and tlie award of tlie D.S.O. to Major T. H. Bevan were announced on Saturday by tlie Minister of Defence. Mr. J ones. Brigadier H. K. Kippenbeger, D. 5.0., whose next-of-kin is his wile, Mrs. it. Kippenbergei', Rangiora. North Canterbury, enlisted in Christchurch in September. 1939. Before tliat lie had served two and a half years with Hie First N.Z.E.F., and 14 years with Hie New Zeal.ind Territorial Force. He sailed witli the First Echelon and was promoted to lhe rank of brigadier in 1941. He was wounded in December, 1941, and has since been awarded Hie D.S.O. si ml mentioned in dispatches. Brigadier Kippenberger is a barrister in civil life. Major T. 11. Bevan, whose next-of-kin is his wife, Mrs. G. Bevan. Holiaria Road, Onehiingii, Auckland, went overseas witli lhe Second Echelon and was mentioned in dispatches early in 1942. lie was reported wounded in Hie present Libyan campaign. lie had 12 years’ service with the Terrillorinl Force before enlisting in January, 19-10
