Laying Totalizator Odds

Three women, in the. Magistrates Court today admitted laying totalizator odds on Auckland racecourses. Gladys Florence Mackrell, who was charged with trespassing on (he .Ellerslie course on January .1, was sentenced by the magistrate, Mr. Luxfqrd, to 11 days imprisonment. He said she had been twice convicted for bookmaking and three times for trespassing on the course. Agnes Thurlow, elderly and a pensioner, was lined £lO for laying totalizator odds and for trespassing on the- trotting course was convicted and ordered to conic up for sentence if called within two years.
