35 DEAD IN U.S. ARMY PLANE CRASH

(Received January 22, 10 p.m.) NEW YORK, January 21. Major-General Harold George, commanding general of air transport, announced that an army transport plane crashed near the coast of Dutch Guiana on January 15, en route overseas. Twenty-six passengers and nine of the crew were killed, including Major Eric Knight, the well-known author of “This Above All,” Messrs P. E. Foxworth, of the Federal Bureau of Investigation, and William Hodson and O. E. Henryson, both of the State Department. The others were mostly military officers. There were no survivors.
