DANCE AT SURF CLUB
Sponsored By American Red Cross Another party of- 80 Wellington girls travelled to J’uekakariki last night to a danee sponsored by the service and olleanip activities of the American Led Cross. The girls left the city early m the evening and arrived at 1 aekaknriki while it was still light, so that the walk to the Surf Club pavilion, where the danee was held, was an enjoyable part of the outing. The girls made an attractive pie Hire in their cool, light summer frocks, which gave an informal atmosphere to the gathering. Two orchestras, one composed ot United States servicemen and the other, a local baud, provided music for the dancing. Slipper was served in the American manner. AVomen clinperones and Red Cross workers accompanied the party, which was met on returning to town by taxis and buses tliuf were specially arranged for to lake the girls home.
