Toll Of Refugee Planes

I Received January 19, 7 p.m.) SYDNEY, January 19. The story of the Japanese air attack' on flying-boats carrying refugees from Java at Broome on March 3 has been released. At least .15 flying-boats, the occupants of which were' mostly women and children. were destroyed and the death roll was heavy. Broome had been used ns a base lor British and Dutch machines bringing refugees to Australia. Zeros concentrated on the flying-boats, diving low to pick off each in turn. They did not attack tne town of Broom** itself, btr 1 raided aircraft on the local aerodrome before living off.
