Dominion Special Service. CHRISTCHURCH, November 6. P. Spratt has been engaged to ride Wardress in the New Zealand Cup. C. ±. Wilson will be on Atreus, but as the horse is handicapped at 7.0, he will have to ca rry at least 71b. overweight. Wilson will ride Monetary from the same stable In the Stewards’ Handicap, in which straight Bat will be handled by D. J. Thistoll, who won on her at Motukarara. The three-year-old Tutere, who has won twice this season, the only races he has contested, was nominated for the Stewards’ Handicap, but it is not likely that he will be required to take on so ambitious a programme, as there will be other opportunities to race him at the meeting. C. McCarthy also has Monetary in the Stewards’ Handicap and he is training on well. Last Effort has done well since he won at Motukarara, and he looks a better horse than at any previous stage. He has not been hurried, and he is on the way to rewarding his owner for a patient policy. It is probable that he will make his next appearance in the highwelght event on the first day of the Canterbury Jockey Club s meeting. Levin Entries. , , „ . Nominations for the Levin Racing Club's meeting, to be held at Otaki on Saturday, November 21, will close on Monday at S p.m.
