The original Greek word for baptise is “baptizo,” which means to “dip, plunge or immerse” anti the recorded instances of baptism 'in the Bible show that it is a bodily immersion in water (Matt. 3:16, Acts 8:36-39), even a “burial" symbolising death (Roms. 6:3,6, Cols. 2:12). Infants cannot bo Scripturally baptised for tho simple reason that Christ taught that baptism must be preceded by a'belief of the Gospel (Mark 16:15-16). In every record of baptism in the New Testament it was preceded by belief (Aets 2:37-42, Acts 8:12, Acts 8:37, Acts 10, Acts 16:14-15, Acts 16:3034, Acts 18:8).
