Servicemen’s Position

For the past two years the N.Z.K.S.A. has pressed tlie Government for provision for war pensions to those servicemen who are injured while o’u leave or while proceeding to or from parades. At a meeting of the Dominion executive committee held this week, the following information was received from the becrct tary for War Pensions: — . “Authority has now been given for the payment of war pensions in respect or injuries incurred by soldiers on leaie wli lie travelling by any public conveyance between their military stations anti the nearest town, or as the case may he, between their military stations and the towns which they wish to visit while on on leave, provided that such injuries are not caused by misconduct or wiltul negligence of the serviceman lumselt. This concession is much appreciated by. the association on behalf of those who have been injured, and will now come within the category mentioned and those who rnav be unfortunate enough to incur injury in the future.
