Strong fields are engaged at the Avondale Jockey Club’s second spring meeting at Elierslie on .Saturday and it is probable that several of the raees will nave to lie divided. . Some good performers appear Rn the principal event, the King George Handicap, and the issue appears Ihe topweights, Beau Leon and Lou Rosa, have not shown any form this season, though it is probable that they will be more forward than for earlier outings. They would only require io strip fit to make matters interesting. Regal Fox is not likely to be discredited for liis defeat at Cambridge, where he had none the best of the running,'and should have, friends. Landve/or showed by his third at J rent.ham recently that he is in good form again and should be capable ot . a solid effort. Sea-law and Cornish are both train-, ed by F. Smith, and the stable elect in sure to have a strong following. Lovaals i<s at. the top of her form and, if the track happens to -be heavy, she should be in the picture: On dry ground . I'.oxseii and Clinch should ruu 'good races. Balblair is a llkelv improver among the lightweights, of whom Hinkler, Ascot Bloom and Little Rose have the best recent form. Popularfancies may include Regal. Fox, Sea-Taw, Lahdvevor, Foxsen, Lovaals and Cornish. The Electric Handicap has attracted a smart field. The three-year-old Kentish is nicely placed and should have an excellent chance to make amends toy earlier «l<rfeats», this season. Brazen Bold should be®'lmproved after recent racing and Aero King is lii good order, though he is in a position in the weights where lie will not find it easy. Golden Survey has an opportunity to make a return to form, and Transmitter is nicely placed. » Dinky Di and Granddra are capable of good efforts and Sleepy Fox Is an imnrover who might take a lot. of beatiii o . Ladv Par, Gold Money and Anopheles can run'the distance smartly on their day, and Kinstep, who has raced consistently .. but unluckily in the hack class, is a possibility Gentry and Kraal are speefiy. and Fight On is on the Improve. Orwere has shown no form- for some time and lately has not been running on well in his races. Thb favourites may include Kentlbu, Sleepy Fox, Transmitter, . Kinstep and Golden Survey.
