JUTE ADVISOR TO THE GOVERNMENT
The appointment of Mr. W. N. Sattcrthwaite, mercantile adviser of the National Mortgage ami Agency Co. of N.Z., Ltd., in an honorary position as jute advisor to the Government, was announced last, night by the Minister of Supply and Munitions, Mr. Sullivan. He said he.had been guided by the fact that lhe National Mortgage, and Agency Co. of N.Z., Ltd., wns by a wide margin the largest importer of jute and jute products.
The appointment of Air. Satterthwaite would not interfere with tho usual method by which jute goods were purchased on the Indian market, said the Minister. Tlie position of other agents of Calcutta jiito merchants would not in any way lie affected
