STOLE PETROL FROM BUSES

Thefts of petrol from railway buses, were admitted by a railway garage employee iu the yiagistrates’ Court. Wellington .yesterday, and he was sent to prison for a month by Jlr. Stout, S.M. He was Henry William Hunt, labourer, aged SG. and there were three charges involving 2-1 gallons, valued at £3/2/-. Detective-Sergeant W. McLennan said accused was employed at the railway bus garage in Aotea Quay and lie siphoned petrol out of bus tanks and sold it to taxi drivers. He had never been in trouble before.

‘‘l have pointed out before that this IS a very serious offence,” said the .magistrate, and he sentenced Hunt to a month s imprisonment: on the first charge, and convicted him on the others and discharged him.
