ADDINGTON (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) ADDINGTON, November 4. Entries at the Addington market were slightly smaller today. The recent good values for fat stock were maintained and store sheep, as a result of the improved feed conditions, firmed, sharply. About 1700 store sheep were yarded and with a larger attendance than usual a very keen sale was recorded. Woolly ewes and lambs sold well from 13/3 to 22/3. all counted. Woolly, ewe hoggets sold to 36/6, and halfbred woolly wethers to 21/-; shorn wether hoggets from 22/- to 24/6, and two pens woolly wether hoggets 28/- and 30/3. The fat sheep entry was 3500, against 4000 last week. There was a marked scarcity of wethers, and this accounted for the best of the young ewes being in keener demand than for some time past. The few wethers offered made up to recent standards, the highest price being 50/1 for woolly and 41/7 for shorn,. Several pens of woolly ewes sold*at from 42/4 to 46/10, and lighter sheep made from 33/10 to 35/1. Young shorn ewes were in strong demand, and prices ranged from 27/to 32/10. The fat cattle entry was 360, and the quality was not as good as at recent sales. With the smalt market prices opened firmly at last week’s rates to slightly firmer for best quality, but though values eased later to slightly below last week’s figures they closed at a little better for good beef than a week ago. Secondary quality lost some of last week’s values. Best beef made from 52/6 to 55/6 per 100 lb., special to 57/6, medium to good 47/6 to 54/-, ordinary to 45/-, inferior down to 35/-. Fat pigs.—Porker values .were fully up to last week’s rates, but overfat lines were easier by 4/- tn 5/- a head. The bacon entry was the largest of the season and, while good quality pigs were keenly competed for. plain and overfat types were difficult to dispose of at satisfactory prices. Average price per lb., porkers, Sid. to 10id.; baconers, Bd. to lOd.
