Vice-Regal. Government House, Wellington, November 4. His Excellency the GovernorGeneral presided at a meeting of the Executive Council this morning. Later, at Government House, his Excellency received the Honourable F. Jones, Minister of Defence. Her Excellency Lady Newall was present, nt a meeting of the Standing Committee of the National Patriotic Council. Sir Harry Batterbee, High Commissioner for the United Kingdom, left Wellington yesterday for Christchurch. Mr. W. E. Hale, chairman of the Dairy Board, is visiting Wellington. Colonel F. L. G. West, Northern Regional E.P.S. Commissioner, is visiting Wellington. Count K. Wodzicki, Polish ConsulGeneral, will visit Masterton today to deliver an address to the Rotary Club there. Mr. M. K. Slosberg, representative of the Broadcasting Corporation of America, has returned to Wellington from Auckland.
