British Appointment In Middle East LONDON, November 2. Mr. P. C. Vellacott, D. 5.0., has been appointed Director of Political Warfare in the Middle Hast. He is a master of Peterhouse, Cambridge, and was formerly headmaster of Harrow, and is 51 years old. The post is a new one. Upon returning from a tour of the Middle East, Mr. Casey, Minister of State for the Middle East, said: “I am convinced that the Iraqui and Persian Governments are thoroughly impressed with the need for taking measures to ensure and maintain economic stability. We are preparing to meet the enemy’s threat to tlie approach to the Middle East from tlie Caucasus.
