“HINEMOA”

The Royal Wellington Choral Union, now in its 38th' year, maintains a reputation for the excellence of its work, and the public always accord it a gratifying reception. For its second concert of the present season the union will present Alfred Hill’s cantata “Hinemoa,” and Charles Villiers Stanford’s “The Revenge.” It is eight or nine years since “Hinemoa” was performed liy the Choral Union, and “The Revenge” was performed last in Wellington about 1907. It is of a purely choral nature. The soloists engaged to take the principal parts in “Hinemoa” are- Merle Gamble (soprano), Owen Bonifant (tenor), and Ken Macaulay (baritone). Due to the Town Hall not being available, the performance, on 'Saturday. November 14, will take place in the Technical College Hall at the rear of the National Art Gallery. The box plan will open at the D I.C. on Tuesday. November 10, at 9 a.rn.
