PROTECTION OF DAKAR
Nazi Admiral’s Reference To Liberia LONDON, October 29. “There is more in tlie Liberian allair than meets tlie eye,” said Admiral Lutzow, broadcasting on tlie Berlin radio. “President Roosevelt for tlie past two years has been declaring that tlie occupation of Dakar would force the gate of Africa. They must not be astonished, therefore, if we link tlie occupation of Liberia with Dakar, Which is the best port in tlie whole of West Africa. The protection of Dakar has been further strengthened by the battleship Richelieu, several cruisers, and a dozen submarines.”
