Cabled news has been received that the marriage is to take place ou November 7 at Crookham, in Hampshire, ot Aliss Eileen Sladden. eldest daughter of Air and the late Airs. Sladden, Lower Hutt. Aliss Sladden, who. is engaged to Flight Lieutenant Basil Foster, of the Air Ministry, London, was in England when war broke out. She is a New Zealand uurse and saw service in Is rance up to the evacuation from Dunkirk, since when she has been nursing in England.

The rhododendron dell in the Karitane grounds, Alelrose will be open to the puolic today and tomorrow, the proceeds from a silver collection being for the Plunket Society funds. The rhododendrons are now at their best and present a beautiful sight.
