RELIGIOUS NOTICES. "THE HOLY SCRIPTURES (GIVEN BY INSPIRATION OF GOD) ARE ABLE TO MAKE WISE UNTO SALVATION THROUGH FAITH WHICH IS IN CHRIST JESUS” (2 Tim. 3:15-18). Reference is made in fbe ‘Scriptures to “The Faith” (Acts 14:22, Cols. 1:23) the "One Faith” (Eph. 4:5); “The Truth’ (- Theas 2:13, 2 Tim. 4:4); "The Gospel (Mark 16:15, 1 Cor. 15:1-2, Roms. 1:15-10); “Sound Doctrine” (2 Tim. 4:3, Roms. 0:17), etc. All these expressions are synonymous and are used to designate “The things concerning the Kingdom of God and the Name of Jesus Christ” (Acts 8:12, Acts 28:30-31). These “things" of the Kingdom and Name must be -believed for salvation and are revealed in thfe Holy Scriptures, therefore “the Holy Scriptures are able to make wise unto salvation” (2 Tim. 3:15, Acts 20:3-, Jas. 1:21, Matt. 13:23). Hence Christ instructed “.Search the Scriptures” (John 5:39) for how otherwise can “the things concerning the Kingdom of God and tbo Name of Jesus Christ” be known and believed? The Scriptures which must be searched are, of course, the Old Testament Scriptures as well as the New, Indeed *t was the Old Testament that Christ specifically referred to when He said “Search the Scriptures” for no other Scriptures existed at that time. (See Matt. 22:29, Luke 24'25-27, Luke 24:44-46, John 5:46-47, Acts 24:14, Acts 26:22, Acts 28:23, Acts 17:2, Acts 17:10-12). Investigation will reveal that “the things” concerning the coming Kingdom of God on earth and “the things concerning the Saving Name of Jesus Christ are not revealed in the Old Testa ment Scriptures ONLY nor are they revealed in the New Testament Scriptures ONLY but they are revealed in ALL the Scriptures both Old and New Testament (Eph. 2:19-20). As it ha's pleased God to “conceal” the "things” which must be believed for salvation in all the Scriptures (Prov. 25:2) “here a little and there a little” (Isa. 51:9-10) it follows that those only who "Search the Scriptures” can be made “wise unto salvation” by the Scriptures. Reader, as you cannot be saved unless you believe “the truth” and as “the truth’ can be found only in the Holy Scriptures it is imperative that you should “search the Scriptures.” We would gladly help yon with your studies and recommend your reading the book “CHRISTENDOM ASTRAY.” A copy will be sent free on application to “BIBLE TRUTH,” Box 71, Wellington.
