A sharp fall, from more than £2OO to £3O/9/-. was shown in membership subscriptions in the balance-sheet of the Wellington Competitions Society, presented 'to the annual meeting last night. It was explained that tile membership fees were regarded by many as payment for the two tickets to all sessions of the festival to which members were entitled. The abandoning of the festival had led to the loss of these fees.
