Red Cross Voluntary Aids Hold Cabaret Night Many of the voluntary aids who attended the Red Cross dance at the Majcb tie Cabaret in Wellington last night wore their attractive white uniforms ai.u veils and scarlet lined capes, addin* to an already brave show of .semce Almost all the men were in unifoim ot some kind and with the lovely c eßia» frocks worn by the remainder of the woment guests the dance floor presented a most attractive picture, lhe event was the annual dance of the AV ellington city sub-centre of the Red Cross Some y, Voluntary Aid Detacbmeut. In the foyer of the cabaret voluntary aids sold lovely sprays of flowers they had made. Before dancing began urn Police Pipe Band played selections followed by a group of numbers in costume by the Ngati-Ponekc Maori Club. Items were presented between dances also. Miss -Marie Cording gave tap dances, presented by Miss D. lowerPalmer,. Mr. Ken Macauley sang, accompanied by Mr. C. Howe, Miss Audrey Allardice and Mr. F. Rogers gave an exhibition dance, Mrs. D. Hastings euteitained with several items and 1 there was a ballet, “Grande Valse Brilliuute. After supper Mr. J. James and Miss Dillan Hosfell gave an exhibition dance. Mrs. G. F. Young arranged the proSpecial guests included Dr. Alexaude. Gillies, president <|f the centre, and Mrs. Gillies, Mrs. P. Fraser, Lady Lake, Air. W. Enders and Mr. F. Claxton, representatives of the American Red Cross, Mr. and Mrs. J. Annaud-Smith, Mr. and Mrs. Slighthouse, Mrs. V. R. Gunn, M lS ® /• Lissington, secretary, Mrs. 0. V. Hole, commandant,' Red Cross, transport corps, Mrs. G. Bryenton and Miss I. Kohn.' There were 500 guests present.
