Officers Of Wellington Branch NEW SECTION FORMED At lite annual general meeting of the Wellington branch of the Royal Society of New Zealand held last night, tlie following officers were elected for the ensuing year:— President, Mr. R. L. Andrew; vicepresident, Dr. L. R. Richardson; council. Dr. L. I. Grange, Dr. R. G. Simmers, Mr. J. W. Matthews. Mr.R. A. McLennan, Mr. G. I'. Anderson, Dr. C. O. Hutton, Dr. E. Beaglehole, Dr. J. Dixon, Mr. W. M. Jones, Dr. A. )'. Lillie. Mr. J. T. Salmon, Mr. H. S. La'iilburd. The formation of a Social Science Section was decided on, to embrace such matters as .sociology, political science. education, psychology, public health, economics, history, anthropology and. ethnology. Tlie purpose of tlie section was briefly outlined by Dr. 1.. R. Richardson and tlie following committee was elected:—Chairman, Dr. E. Beaglehole; committee, Dr. W. R. it. Oliver, Dr. Richardson and Mr. L. S. Hearnshaw; secretary, Mrs. P. Beaglehole. A vote of thanks to the retiring president, Dr. H. H. Allen, was carried by acclamation.
