SEARCH FOR MISSING AIRMEN

(Received October 26, 9 p.m.) WASHINGTON, October 25. The War Department has announced the names of seven army airmen missing with Captain Riekenbacker. An intensive search since Wednesday has failed to reveal any trace. There is a slight hope that the missing men may be afloat on life-rafts. The authorities have not abandoned hope, though they admit that the prospects of the search are gloomy. There is a possibility that the plane landed on one of the countless atolls and was unable to establish radio contact.
