Tyro and Car Census.
The Ministry of Supply has ordered a census of laid-up motor vehicles in Britain immediately in order to discover what vehicles and tyres are available for requisitioning when necessary. Sir Kenneth Lee, Director of Controls at the Ministry of Supply, estimates that the tyres on laid-up cars represent 10,000 tons of crude rubber.
