Dominion Special Service. \ WANGANUI. October 27. A record in the number o£ standards gained was established by the children at the Freuds School during their athletic sports. The senior girls particularly distinguished themselves, three records bojiig broken. The excellent long jump of 030 metres by Donald Moreland broke the senior boys’ record which had stood since 1926 The cups were presented by Mrs. T. E. Wilson. Results: — , , , ~ ~ Senior boys’ championship: Donald Moreland. 11 points; runner-up, J. Wilson, 16 points. ’ t , , Senior girls’ championship: Brenda baiter, 64 points; ruiinern-up, Enid Law and Muriel Beckerley, 5 points Junior boys’ championship (under 1-1 • '■’-/lifford Reid, 9 points; runner-up, William Templeton, 5 points. junior girls' championship (under I—>. Charlotte Christie, 7 points; runner-up, Marjorie Sutherland, 3 points. Canoe championship: Aoleu. 230 points; Talnui, 173. Those gaining standards were:—Senior hoys: Jim Wilson, Donald Moreland, Vincent Wilson, lan Reid, Thomas Johnson. Senior girls: Ruth Williams, Margaret Cottrell, Mary Hone, Shirley Galyer Enid Law Barbara Brown. Muriel Beekerleg, Brenda Salter, Ivv Turner, Jill Baker, Alison Craighead, Helen Wilson, Christine Hines, Valerie Loose, Carol Cresswell. Junior bovs: William Templeton, Neil Craighead,' Clifford Reid, John Bryce. Junior girls: Charlotte Christie, Audrey Mlnefy. Audrey Allan.
