New Cadets Appointed
Eleven Salvation Army cadets who have been preparing for ofiicership lor the past seven mouths at the Training College in -Aro Street, Wellington, received their commissions and appointments at a service conducted by Commissioner J. Evan Smith in the Vivian Street Citadel last night. Features ot the gathering were the presentation of silver stars to mothers of the cadets by Mrs. Commissioner Smith, and the presentation of Red Cross certificates b> Mrs. Colonel Ebbs. , Cadets Nellie Gould and Ernest lon„ gave personal testimony as to their call to the army’s work, and their desire to be of service to humanity. .brigadier Florence Birks; training principal, gave the sessional review, telling of good work done by the cadets; and Commissioner Smith commissioned and appointed the cadets. The prayer of dedication was offered by Lieutenant-Colonel it. Burton, and Colonel W. A.
