POLISH WOMEN IN RUSSIA
Gratitude For New Zealand Help Mrs. T. 0. A. Hislop, chairman of the Wellington branch of the Lady Galway Guild, has received the following letter from the Consul-General for Poland in New Zealand, Count Wodzicki: —“Referring to the very generous contribution of 75 cases of clothing from your guild in February last on behalf of the Polish women and children in Russia, it may interest you to know that the shipment arrived safely, and was deeply appreciated. I have received a cable from the Polish Charge d’Affaires, Henryk Sokol■uicki, at Kuibyshev, reading as follows: —‘Please accept heartfelt thanks of all Polish citizens in U.S.S.R. for relief transport containing 75 bales clothing. Touched bv gesture toward fellow-coun-trymen in U.S.S;R. Kindly advise hamea committee responsible. Have given instructions to send them detailed report on distribution.’ ”
