Appointments And Promotions The following appointments and promotions in the New Zealand military forces were gazetted this week:— Staff.— Major (temp.) G. 11. Macan, N.Z. Staff Corps, is appointed officer commanding a composite company N.Z.A.S.C., and an A.S.C. base training depot. Captain F, Reid, 2nd N.Z.E.F., is appointed depute assistant director of ordnance services of a division and is granted the temporary rank of major. N.Z. Permanent Stall’.—Captain and Quartermaster (temp.) A. Holmes is granted the temporary rank of major and quartermaster while employed as commandant of a district school of instruction. N.Z. Temporary Staff.—Captain L. C. Hardie, B.Sc., Staff-Officer (Forts), Army Headquarters, to be major (temp.). Bud N.Z.E.F. Commands and Staff.—Lieutenant-Col-onel J. T. Burrows, Southern Infantry, is appointed to command a battalion. Major j_> ,1, Fountaine, M.C., Southern Infantry, (s'unpointed second in command of a battalion. Major C. Laugbelu, N.Z. Engineers is appointed to command an engineer and ordnance training depot. Major 11. G Burton, Central Infantry, is appointed to' command a battalion temporarily and Is granted the temporary rank of lieu-tenant-colonel. Captain (temp, major) G. McCallum, N.Z. Dental Corps, is promoted major and appointed to command a camp dental hospital N Z Medical Corps.—The undermentioned captains to be majors: J. Dempsey; Captain (temp major) W. J. Boyd: Captain (temp, major) A. L. Lomas, M.C. N.Z. Army Pay Corps: Captain L. A. Greig, to be major. NZ. Artillery: Captain D. B. Patterson to lie major (temp.), while coinuiandz l l l nfantry: Captain W. Dickson. Northern Infantry, to be major (temp.), while commanding a company. Captain A. 13 Burge, Central Infantry, to be major (temp ) while employed as deputy assistant adjutant general of a division. Captain C.
