LIBERTY LOAN
A very attractive programme was provided by a visiting service band at Liberty Corner from 12.30 to 1.45 p.m. yesterday. A big crowd assembled to hear the band, and as a result good business was done by the Liberty Loan bureau. The Australian Mutual Provident Society yesterday took up a further £250,000 of Liberty Loan, making the total subscription to this loan £500,000. Wellington’s contribution on Tburt#day to the Liberty Loan was 55 applications, totalling £28,640, making the grand total to the close of business bn Thursday £435,350. Some of the additional subscriptions are as follows: —liar vie Ltd., £500; Keans Ltd., £330; Mersey Properties Ltd., £110; Wellington Mechanical Engineering Co., £250; Bank of New Zealand Officers’ Guarantee and Provident Association, £2000; Schneideman and Son Ltd., £100; J. Inglis Wright Ltd., £250; Financial Services Ltd., £250; Allied Guaranty Corp., Ltd., £100; Carriers’ Association (Wellington), Incorp., £200; Goldberg Advertising Agency Ltd., £100; N.Z. Sawmillers’ Agency Co., Ltd., £250; E. Sime and Co., Ltd,, £250; Frozen Products Ltd., £250; Dental and Medical Supply Co., Ltd., £2OOO.
