LARGE BUSH FIRE
NEW YORK, October 22. A vast bush fire which ranged for three days devastated wide areas in the Santa Monica Mountains, California, leaving scores of persons burned or injured. including 12 who are seriously affected. Twenty-five homes, including pretentious mansions, were destroyed. Fires continue to rage in the Malibu Hills, further west, forcing thousands of people temporarily to evacuate. threatened areas.
