Mr. G. L. Ltturenson, Commissioner of Transport, returned to Wellington y.sterday. Mr. W. L. Wilson, sujieriutendent of tlie Auckland Metropolitan Fire Brigade. arrived in Wellington yesterday. Mr. E. H. S. Hamilton lias been appointed acting registrar for the'Christchurch diocese iu place of Mr. E. I’. Wills, who is now in the Army. The Rev. F. N, Taylor, formerly archdeacon of Akaroa, has been appointed Archdeacon Emeritus by the Primate,- Archbishop West-Watson. Dr, 11. C. Barrett, resident surgeon at the New Plymouth Hospital, has been appointed acting-superintendent following the resignation of Dr. C. A. Taylor, who is now director of the new tuberculosis division of the Health Department.
