The Stokes Valley Women’s Institute held its October meeting in the Wesley Hall, Lower Hutt. Articles of clothing made up for the Fighting French was the competition for the month, which was won by Sirs. Robertson, with Sliss McGregor second. Knitting and sewing for all sections of the forces are being carried on efficiently by many members. Sirs. Dowse presided, and the programme, organized by a Lower Hutt, member, included items by Slesdames Lines, Parkos and Anderson. A talkjwas given by Sirs. Craig SlcKenzie on New Zealand poets and their works.
